2017 Green Beauty Holiday Gift Guide

November 19, 2017

This year I’ve put together a number of holiday gift guides to help others make their lists or shop for their loved ones. Anyone who follows my blog knows that I am a Green Beauty advocate and its really the theme that kick started this entire blog to where it was. Its where I hold a great deal of knowledge, from researching my butt off for years to testing product after product. I only share the ones I truly love on this blog and so what better opportunity to point you in the right direction than the holidays? Here’s a list of my Green Beauty MUST HAVES that you can shop directly from this post. Send this to your gift givers as a subtle *hint hint* or use it as your personal guide to spoil your people (or yourself).

November 15, 2017

I am a sucker for minimalism. Everything about it makes my heart flutter and I couldn’t have been more excited when i found these gorgeous handmade and minimalist Christmas decorations from Etsy. I love a good Etsy hunt, I especially love supporting handmade businesses where you can find one of a kind designs that aren’t mass produced in huge department stores. I never thought to look for Christmas decor on Etsy but I came across these magical finds and thought I’d share them with you as the holiday decorating season is upon us!

Cream of Kale, Red Onion & Celery Soup (Vegetarian & Ketogenic Friendly)

October 15, 2017

When I heard the term “Ketogenic lifestyle”, I was in University completing my degree in Psychology. I learned about this diet as a remedy for many mental health ailments, as well for children who are on the Autism Spectrum. This diet is starting to gain a following in popular culture as some stars like Halle Berry sing its praises for weight loss, anti-aging, and its reversal of many symptoms of diabetes. In many cases, people who wish to lose weight will use this diet as it strictly controls carbohydrate intake and calls for high fat and moderate protein. I am not always one to hop on to extreme ways of eating but it really peaked my interest and what better time to try it than before my wedding day.

Travel Essentials: Top Must-Haves When Travelling

October 12, 2017

There’s no doubt in my mind, if I had my dream life, I would travel 24/7. The growth I’ve experienced and lessons I’ve learned while travelling to different countries and witnessing different cultures has been monumental. I have every intention of seeing more and more the older I get. So far on my bucket list I’ve got a few places lined up: Peru to see Machu Pichu, Ireland to see the green landscapes and historic stoney walls, Cambodia to see the ancient temples.. I could go on. One thing is for sure, anytime I am travelling to another land I make sure I bring along some key essentials. I decided to write up a list for them here with some of my latest picks (Affiliated).

Cheesy Vegetarian Zucchini Lasagna Recipe

October 6, 2017

Does anyone get as excited as I do when they find a vegetable substitute for starchy white items like noodles or bread? I am not against having a baguette or nice big bowl of pasta once in a while but I personally feel better when I avoid those ingredients for the most part. I have seen versions of zucchini lasagna circling the web for some time now but this is the recipe that we’ve been using for years to get our veggie fix in. It is extra cheesy, and especially delicious. Not to mention it is vegetarian, gluten free, low carb and ketogenic friendly! A great alternative for anyone who is looking to add a healthier spin on the famous italian dish. Here’s a simple and delicous vegetarian zuchini lasagna recipe. Hope you enjoy!!

How to Travel Italy for Less

September 29, 2017

When Steve and I had our first date almost six years ago, one of the things that stuck out the most from our first conversation was how much we both loved to travel. We also realized that ‘the way’ we loved to travel was the same, we both loved to see as much as we could and we would rather spend our money immersing ourselves in the culture of a country rather than spend money on an all inclusive trip to lie on a beach for seven days (not that theres anything bad about a little R&R.. and believe me, you offer me an all inclusive trip? ILL TAKE IT!). Since being together, we’ve had opportunities to travel here and there but one thing is for sure, we aren’t rolling in dough so we have to make sure we plan our trips accordingly and budget. And so begins the section of my blog dedicated to travelling the world (when you’re just the average joe who wants to see and do everything like us) called “Wanderlust”.

How to Get Rid of Acne Naturally: The Oil Cleansing Method + My Top 5 Reccomendations

March 5, 2017

When I was a teenager, I carried the burden of the occasional break out. Something that no teenager wants to deal with but something that most experience (thanks a lot hormones). But nothing compared to the skin tornado that happened when I hit my early 20’s. This unfortunate breakout was partly due to ending my relationship with the Birth Control Pill and it took some serious shots at my self confidence. I literally tried everything in my power to tame the acne that had erupted all over my face but nothing was working. I went as far as taking the drug Accutane, which requires monthly blood tests to ensure your liver is processing it properly (yikes). While this “wonder drug” did give me clear skin for a year or so, eventually it came back and with a vengeance. I was at a loss of what to do and enlisted the help of my Naturopath who referred me to a holistic aesthetician. I am so grateful that I met this amazing woman for so many reasons and her knowledge of natural skin care is one of them. She started by assessing my skin and eventually came up with a skin care regime for me. This is what the regime looked like:

January 26, 2017

Maya Chia has quickly become a brand on the forefront of the green beauty world.
