I’ve come across many different green and organic brands through this process. It’s really a neat thing to see how creators choose to develop products and what they choose to use and blend. This process isn’t always seen by everyone but I feel it’s important to showcase a brand when they put their heart and soul into their craft. Often times I find products that are blended with “trendy” ingredients without much thought. Then there’s the opposite type of product creating, the kind that has someone behind it that dedicates every ounce of themselves to the process. They choose ingredients carefully, with thought, and having knowledge behind them. I have never found someone more dedicated to creating than Carolyn of Live Botanical.

Live Botanical is a small batch natural beauty brand that makes the most beautiful and effective products around. Carolyn harvests many of her own ingredients from the ground herself to create this magic and believes in the power of herbs that we can find close to home. Not only are these ingredients amazing, but they are grown and harvested more locally and reduce the carbon emissions of shipping ingredients overseas. It also provides first hand knowledge of the sourcing and quality of the product from the beginning of the growing process. Carolyn also prices her products incredibly fairly. There are so many reasons why I love this brand but the major reason is the quality of product. Some of my favourite body and skincare products of all time come from this line. I’m the girl who owns a zillion lip products but almost always forget to re-apply to avoid the effects of the weather in Canada. I always regret this forgetfulness. About 2 months into winter my lips are screaming at me to figure it out. Over the years I’ve gotten better about my lip care and I’ve also noticed as I age that your lips really do age along with the rest of your face. I guess this makes sense but it’s something I never thought about till I noticed the fine lines and thinning that has started. I’m not one to avoid aging, I love my smile lines and try my best to embrace my wrinkles (thanks kids).. but I do like to take care of myself to help the aging process continue gracefully.

I don’t often get all glammed up anymore after becoming a Mom. You can find me sans makeup with my hair up most days while I tackle mountains of cleaning and chase a busy toddler.. but when I DO get to do makeup for myself, I have a LOT of fun. I used to get all dolled up often and always found playing with my makeup to be soothing and an act of self care. I look at makeup as art and an outlet to be creative so I had SO much fun busting out all of my favourite palettes and shades to put together this look for the Holidays. To top it off, I received 4 gorgeous sets of vegan & cruelty free magnetic false lashes to put the cherry on top of this look. I had never tried magnetic lashes before and have always been intrigued by them.. the idea of not using glue near my eyes was a plus. I put together this post outlining the look I created with all the products used as well as  a review of TOK Beauty’s magnetic falsies and a few tips and tricks on how to wear magnetic lashes.
