Step 1: Set Up Your Lumebox 2.0
First, ensure your Lumebox is fully charged. This ensures that you have enough power to get through a full session. The device comes with a charging cord which can be plugged into the wall. Once fully charged, the lumebox does NOT need to be plugged in during the session. It is a portable device and can be taken with you anywhere you go.

How close to hold Lumebox during a red light session
Find a stable surface or wall space where you can position your Lumebox 2.0 at a comfortable height. Plug it in and make sure the panel is at least 6 inches away (as per Lumebox recommendations) from the area of your body you plan to treat. This distance provides optimal light exposure without overheating or losing intensity.
Step 2: How to turn on Lumebox and Choose your Mode
Next, turn on your device using the power button found at the top end of the device. If you need to turn the device off before the end of your session, simply press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
The red light (660nm) targets the skin’s surface to support collagen production and radiance, while the near-infrared light (850nm) penetrates deeper to promote muscle recovery and cellular repair. You can use both modes together or individually, depending on your goals. To switch between different modes, press or tap the power button to toggle between them seamlessly.
Step 3: How long should you do Red Light Therapy? How often should you use the Lumebox?
For best results, use your device for up to 12 minutes, focusing on one area at a time. According to Lumebox, beginners can start with shorter sessions (2-3 minutes) and gradually increase duration as your body adapts tp the full 12 minute session over a period of 2-4 weeks. The lumebox is set with an internal timer to shut off automatically after a 12 minute period. If you require a shorter time, you must monitor this and turn off at your own discretion.
After the device operates up to the maximum 12 minute session, it was automatically shut off and go into cool down mode. This lasts about 3 minutes and allows the device to cool back down before you can use it again.
In terms of how many times you can use your Lumebox a day, the answer varies based on how many different areas you wish to treat. Lumebox suggests that you leave 6 hours between treatment sessions over the same area. This allows for cell absorption recovery. Red light therapy is effective and does not require multiple sessions over the same area back to back to provide results.
Step 4: Relax and Let the Light Work
Sit or stand comfortably while the red and near-infrared light works its magic. There’s no pain, vibration, or heat — just gentle, soothing light. You can meditate, read, or listen to music during your session.
