Fitglow Beauty Lip Colour Cream 3-in-1 Lip Treatment Review and Swatches

April 30, 2018

There has been a huge buzz surrounding one of my favourite EVER green beauty brands, Fitglow beauty. This is a well deserved reaction to the Canadian born makeup and skincare line. Fitglow is known for its makeup that doubles as skincare as well as a nutrient dense skin care line that delivers some of the most potent and skin boosting ingredients around. Not many brands have been able to perfect both makeup and skincare but if I had to choose just ONE brand, Fitglow would hands down be my deserted island choice. I have been a huge fan of this brand for years now as it  was carried by one of the green beauty spas I went to in Toronto in its earlier years.  Fitglow Beauty has always had rave reviews and it’s become the standard for green beauty. I have been using their foundation boosted with seaweed bio extracts and hyaluronic acid for about three years now and it has been my go to for everyday wear. You can check it out in my natural and cruelty free foundation guide HERE.

Vegan “Chicken Soup” Broth: Just as savoury & high in nutrients

April 16, 2018

This is a recipe that I created out of no where. It isn’t something I was necessarily craving but now that I’ve tasted it and know the nutrient profile in the recipe, I can’t stop making it! I have been making this to eat on its own and to freeze into ice cubes as a nutrient dense broth that you could throw into cooking (ie. cook with your quinoa or add to soups). It will especially come in handy whenever I get sick next and in need of a light comfort food like broth. On top of all that, it’s super simple to make!

Moroccan Beldi Soap: Why its Different, How to Use It + Its Incredible Health Benefits

April 6, 2018

Body care is just as important as taking care of the skin on your face. Your skin is a literal pathway to everything inside of your body, so what you use to clean it matters. It should come as no surprise that I stick to natural products when it comes to my body but I rarely create a ritual out of it.. until lately . Jump in the shower, wash, jump out.. that used to be my everyday routine. I have since extended the extra TLC that I use on my face to the rest of my body as an extra form of self care with amazing results. My new routine consists of dry brushing (though I’m not exactly the most consistent with this), the Beldi soap ritual (which I will explain in a moment) and I have been consistent with applying either a body butter, body oil or wax after towelling off. I used to hate adding these extra steps as they “ate up time” in my day and its something I don’t have an abundance of since I made a tiny human.. but quite honestly, it has been transformational for my skin and for my mind.

My Step by Step Deeply Hydrating Winter to Spring Skincare Routine

April 5, 2018

I have had a lot of questions regarding my skincare routine as of late and I had to share the product line up that has helped mend the dry winter skin and help me transition into the Spring with a glow. Besides being all star products that are highly coveted in the green beauty world, they all have the most gorgeous spring scents which are helping boost my mood along with the sunshine that’s poking through the clouds a bit more these days. I test out products a lot but I always come back to these brands which makes them extra special to me. As someone who has suffered with terrible acne breakouts in my teen years and early adulthood, these are the kinds of products and methods that have helped pull me out of those uncomfortable moments and have helped me maintain clear and glowing skin for years.

So here it is, a quick and dirty (but really clean) green beauty skincare regime:

Natural + Cruelty Free Foundation Guide

April 4, 2018

Foundations are such a personal choice when it comes to makeup. They are the canvas for everything to follow. Everyone has different skin types, skin needs, and preferences. I think its so important to take opinions from various sources when choosing the right fit of foundation for these very reasons. Many green beauty bloggers have their favourites, as I have mine.. but my favourite won’t necessarily be yours. So, when putting together my foundation guide I wanted to be as objective as possible. I had originally hoped to create a chart that was an easy visual but had too much to say about each product and found that it wouldn’t all fit on a chart. So I decided I would write a list of things I would want to know about when choosing a foundation.  Each foundation is listed with the following information: My personal shade (for reference), cost, where to buy, coverage, is it buildable?, viscosity, finish, # of shades available, is it vegan?, is it organic?, SPF?, how its best applied, think dirty rating if available (a rating scale that determines toxicity), the brands description, and a mini review (provided by myself, from my own personal opinion based on my own skin). I’ve also included a shade guide for each product.
