Cream cheese is a staple in many homes. It can most often be seen as a spread over warm toasty bagels or crispy crackers. It’s also used in a variety of different recipes including cheese cakes. If were looking from a health standpoint, cream cheese contains a lot of good vitamins and minerals. Store bought versions, however, may come with convenience but they can be loaded with poor ingredients. From fillers and gums to preservatives to keep their shelf life. That is why, if there is an easy accessible recipe, I prefer to make homemade versions. Cream cheese may sound like a daunting thing to make but it’s actually the complete opposite. Cream cheese is incredibly easy to make and only requires a few ingredients. You may already have these ingredients in your home.

All you’ll need to make your own homemade cream cheese is whole milk, full fat cream, vinegar and salt. You can certainly add in extras to kick up the flavor but for a classic cream cheese that is all you require. This makes it a very inexpensive food item to make at home. There are so many pros to making this yourself.

After making this I keep it in an air tight glass container in my fridge and pull it out whenever needed. As I mentioned above, you can add inclusions to your cream cheese for different flavors. Some options could include sundried tomatoes, herbs, garlic, and more. You can add these items in during the blending process.  If you want to save this recipe for later, feel free to pin the post below and keep it tucked away on pinterest boards for when you need it.
