Why I Tested Good Beauty Skincare (And What You Should Know Before Buying)

As a skincare enthusiast, I love discovering new brands—especially ones rooted in clean, wellness-focused formulations. After experiencing significant skin issues in my younger years, I invested time in learning how ingredients, formulations, and consistency truly impact skin health. While acne is no longer my main concern, my skin has evolved as I approach 40, bringing new challenges like dryness, sensitivity, and maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Testing new skincare products is one of my favorite parts of my work, and I take a deep-dive approach so you don’t have to spend time or money guessing what might work for you.

Before buying Good Beauty Skincare, it’s important to consider your skin type, ingredient sensitivities, and expectations for results. Clean skincare often focuses on long-term skin health rather than instant, dramatic changes. That being said, Good Beauty caught my eye with their ingredient list filled with actives known to deliver both immediate and long term results.

I tested Good Beauty products consistently as part of my regular skincare routine to see how they performed over time, not just on first application. In this Good Beauty review, I’ll walk through what stood out most—from texture and absorption to visible skin changes and overall comfort—while also highlighting who this brand is best suited for. I’ll also share where Good Beauty fits within the clean beauty space and how to use a Good Beauty discount code to get the best value if you decide to try it for yourself.

What Is Good Beauty Skincare?

Good Beauty Skincare was created by Meg Kilcup. Meg is a Doctor of Pharmacy who found passion in clean living. Over the years she has grown a solid community of wellness enthusiasts and saw some gaps in the skincare industry. This is what led her to create Good Beauty. Good Beauty Skincare is a clean, ingredient-conscious skincare brand focused on creating effective formulas without unnecessary additives. It is unique in that every single ingredient is an active and has a purpose, while also being 100% clean. As someone who has tested numerous clean beauty brands that just didn’t quite deliver, I truly appreciate a clean skincare brand that doesn’t just slap a base with some lavender oil and call it a day.

The brand emphasizes thoughtful ingredient selection, combining skin-supportive actives with gentle bases designed to work for a variety of skin types. Known for its minimalist yet impactful approach, Good Beauty Skincare aims to deliver visible results while avoiding harsh chemicals commonly found in conventional products. For those seeking a balanced blend of performance and clean formulation, Good Beauty positions itself as an accessible option within the modern clean beauty space.

Brand Mission and Philosophy

Drawing from her medical background and passion for holistic wellness, Meg built the brand around the idea that skincare should support the body—not work against it. Good Beauty’s philosophy focuses on using thoughtfully selected ingredients that nourish the skin barrier, respect hormonal balance, and deliver real results without unnecessary fillers or harsh additives. The brand reflects Meg’s belief that beauty routines should align with long-term wellness, making skincare an extension of a healthy, intentional lifestyle rather than a quick fix.

What Makes Good Beauty Skincare Different From Other Clean Brands

Good Beauty Skincare stands out in the crowded clean beauty market because it combines high-performance ingredients with a truly health-conscious approach. Unlike many brands that market “clean” but still include questionable additives, Good Beauty carefully selects actives that are both safe and effective, avoiding harsh preservatives, synthetic fragrances, and unnecessary fillers. Its formulas are designed to support skin health over time, protecting the skin barrier while delivering visible results. Additionally, the brand’s foundation in wellness expertise and evidence-based formulation sets it apart, offering a line that feels both luxurious and thoughtfully crafted for long-term skin and overall wellness.

From first impressions to long-term effects, this review is designed to give you an honest look at how Good Beauty performs, who it works best for, and whether it’s worth using alongside your clean beauty routine.

First Impressions and Overall Experience

From the moment I tried Good Beauty Skincare, it was clear that this brand pays attention to both formulation and presentation. The products feel thoughtfully crafted and luxurious on the skin. They use lightweight, nourishing textures that absorb quickly without leaving a greasy or sticky residue. The packaging adds to the premium experience—each product comes in beautifully branded glass containers that feel substantial and elegant. This further reflects the brand’s clean, wellness-focused philosophy. Overall, my first impressions highlighted a balanced combination of effective, gentle ingredients and high-end presentation, making Good Beauty stand out in the clean beauty space and setting a positive tone for testing the products over time.

First, I want to deep dive into the ingredients.

Good Beauty Skincare Ingredients Review

Good Beauty Skincare stands out for its carefully selected, high-quality ingredients that support healthy, radiant skin without unnecessary additives. Key actives often include vitamin-rich grass fed tallow, plant-based oils, hydrating humectants, and gentle botanicals designed to nourish the skin barrier and maintain moisture balance. Many formulas also incorporate antioxidants and vitamins to protect against environmental stressors and promote a more even, glowing complexion.

Key Active Ingredients Explained

What sets Good Beauty skincare apart is its minimalist, health-conscious approach: every ingredient serves a purpose, and the products are free from parabens, synthetic fragrances, harsh preservatives, and other potentially irritating chemicals. This thoughtful formulation ensures that users get effective, safe, and clean skincare that aligns with a wellness-focused lifestyle.

Ingredients Good Beauty Skincare Avoids

One of the reasons Good Beauty Skincare stands out in the clean beauty space is its commitment to avoiding potentially harmful or unnecessary ingredients. The brand intentionally leaves out:

  • ❌parabens
  • ❌sulfates
  • ❌synthetic fragrances
  • ❌phthalates
  • ❌artificial dyes
  • ❌endocrine disruptors

These are all common additives in conventional skincare that can irritate sensitive skin or disrupt the skin barrier. Good Beauty also steers clear of harsh preservatives and hormone-disrupting chemicals, ensuring that every product is gentle enough for daily use while still delivering visible results. By focusing on what not to include as much as what to include, Good Beauty provides a safer, more mindful approach to skincare that aligns with a wellness-conscious lifestyle.

good beauty skincare - good beauty cleansing oil

🧴Good Beauty Cleansing Oil Review

Oil cleansing is a skincare practice that is very dear to me. Might sound a bit silly, but it was one of the changes I made  to my regimen in my early twenties when I was experiencing horrible acne. After consulting a holistic skincare expert, oil cleansing was recommended to me. I was confused at first as many of us are told oils are a contributor to acne. But this is not true.

The overproduction of oil in our skin that clogs our pores (sebum) actually happens when our skin lacks moisture. It’s our body’s natural attempt to fix a dry skin barrier, but this can lead to clogged pores and acne for many. Once we nourish our skin with protective oils, overproduction of sebum and oils balances out. This can actually help the skin return to balance and heal acne. Cleansing oil is also incredible for most other skin types including those who are sensitive, maturing skin, and more.

I have been testing the good beauty cleansing oil. I love the luxe glass packaging and the dropper dispenser. It is best applied to damp skin and worked in with hands to help remove makeup, debris and impurities. It is a pure cleansing oil which means it needs the help of a cloth to remove the debris it has picked up. I always opt for a double cleanse if I am removing makeup. It smells incredible thanks to the addition of essential oils. If you are sensitive to essential oils on your face then this may not be for you. Overall, it’s a beautiful cleansing oil that adds to the good beauty skincare ritual.

The Cleansing Oil is a combination of ten organic oils that all carry their own skincare properties and benefits.

🧴Good Beauty Miracle Serum Review

Next up, Good Beauty’s Miracle Serum. This microbiome friendly serum is simple yet powerful. the ingredients in this serum are some that I have used for many years in my skincare routine. This is a combination of organic jojoba oil with some of the most effective and luxurious essential oils for skincare. The essential oils include: Blue Tansy Essential Oil, Frankincense Essential Oil, Helichrysum Essential Oil and Rose Essential Oil. These are the exact EO’s I would personally use and have used in the past for my skin. They all carry beneficial skincare properties to reduce fine lines, heal skin conditions, reduce inflammation and more. They rank as some of the most expensive essential oils in skincare for a reason. Here’s a quick breakdown of the skincare benefits below:

Good Beauty Miracle Serum

📃Good Beauty Miracle Serum Ingredients + Benefits

All of the ingredients in this serum are organic and sourced from areas where the oils are produced at the highest quality.

Jojoba Oil:

Commonly used as a carrier oil for it’s ability to balance the skin’s natural oil production. It provides deep moisture without clogging pores making it a great moisturizer for those with acne prone skin. Jojoba oil also helps to reduce redness, reactivity and inflammation of the skin.

Blue Tansy Essential Oil:

Anyone who has used blue tansy oil in their skincare routine before can attest to it’s power. It is incredibly beneficial for the skin and it also smells incredible. It’s quite the experience! This is what gives the serum it’s beautiful blue hue. Blue tansy provides relief for those with reactive, sensitive or redness prone skin as it’s anti-inflammatory. It also provides anti-oxidant support to the skin, reduces irritation and clarifies.

Organic Frankincense Essential Oil:

Frankincense is one of the most commonly used oils in skincare. It is especially helpful for mature skin as it boosts collagen production and reduces fine lines. If you want to support aging skin, this is something to consider. Frankincense is also a very healing oil. It can reduce hyperpigmentation and scarring. For those who have sun damage or acne scarring, this oil can be very beneficial.

Organic Rose Essential Oil:

Rose Oil has been used for centuries for it’s skincare properties. It is especially helpful for maturing skin. But it also benefits all skin types through it’s ability to lock in moisture. Not only that, but rose oil helps reduce inflammation, irritation and redness. It is an incredibly powerful essential oil and used in many skincare products for this reason.

Organic Helichrysum Essential Oil:

Helichrysum is another healing essential oil. It helps regenerate the skin by promoting collagen production and cell turnover. For this reason, it’s effective at reducing scarring, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles and dark spots. This essential oil will help the skin appear smooth and glowy.

Good Beauty Skincare Review - Good Beauty Dream Cream

🧴Good Beauty Dream Cream Moisturizer Review

I have loved using good beauty skincare products, but the dream cream has become one of my absolute favorite clean beauty moisturizers. It contains all of the best ingredients that have been clinically proven to support beautiful, clear and healthy skin. This product took all of my favorite skincare ingredients and formulated the ultimate moisturizer. Not only that, but it applies like a dream and feels so luxurious. It definitely holds up to many other higher end clean beauty skincare products.

The texture is what drew me in first. It is dreamy just like it’s name suggests. Dream cream has the type of density that skincare enthusiasts dream about. A medium viscosity that blends in so beautifully to the skin. It’s one of those products where you wake up in the morning and can’t stop touching your skin. It feels so soft, supple, dewy and plump. Like all the good beauty skincare products, it also comes in the most beautiful glass jar. The entire experience is so luxe and I wish I had the technology to share the experience with you through the screen. For now, I hope my rave review will help others opt for one of the best clean beauty moisturizers on the market.

The ingredients in good beauty dream cream are what make it so incredible. Here’s a breakdown of them below so you can better understand what your skin will be soaking up:

📃Good Beauty Dream Cream Ingredients + Benefits

These are some of the best sourced and highly effective skincare ingredients I have found grouped together in a long time. The thought that went behind formulating this cream speaks to why it’s so effective. The naturally sourced ingredients are all organic. The hyaluronic acids and ceramides are clinical grade and non-GMO. Here’s a breakdown of Good beauty skincare’s Dream Cream:

Organic, Grass-fed Tallow:

Good beauty sources their tallow from a high quality grass fed USA farm. It is filled with fat soluble vitamins and nutrients that mimic our skin’s composition. It helps to provide deep moisture, repairs the skin barrier, and the high vitamin A can even help promote cell turnover. This helps reduce scarring, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. You can read more about the benefits of tallow in skincare HERE.

Organic Aloe Vera:

Aloe is soothing, hydrating and healing. It can help reduce inflammation and redness in the skin.

Shea Butter Glycerides:

These glycerides are high in skin healing vitamin A and E. They provide and lock in moisture while boosting the skin’s elasticity.

Peptides (Punica Granatum Extract & Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (orange) Flower Extract):

These are botanically sourced peptides that help to lift and smooth skin texture. They provide support to collagen structures and improve skin firmness. Sort of like a mini face lift from nature.

Organic Elderberry:

Helps to reduce inflammation, irritation and redness. It is rich in antioxidants which help skin maintain a fresh and youthful appearance.

Dermapeptide (Lactobacillus/Capsicum Frutenscens Fruit Ferment Extract):

Boosts collagen production and cellular turnover. This helps reduce signs of aging and leaves the skin looking fresh and smooth.

Astaxanthin Extract:

One of the most potent anti-oxidants, astaxanthin helps reverse sun damage and signs of aging.

Bakuchiol:

Bakuchiol is a natural botanical source of retinol. It helps turnover skin and reduce signs of aging.

High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid (cosmetic grade, non-gmo):

high molecular HA is a larger molecule that works at the top layers of the skin to smooth, hydrate and refresh the skin.

Medium Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid (cosmetic grade, non-gmo):

Medium molecular HA is a mid sized molecule that penetrates below the skin’s surface to plump and smooth the skin. It helps to create a light barrier to reduce moisture loss.

Super Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid (cosmetic grade, non-gmo):

Low molecular HA is a small sized molecule that penetrates deep within the skin’s layers to support the skin barrier and hydrate from deep within.

Ceramides:

Lipids that help repair and strengthen the skin barrier. This allows it to work efficiently which ensures the skin is retaining enough moisture.

Good Beauty Skincare Performance and Results

After using Good Beauty Skincare consistently, I was able to get a clear sense of how the products perform beyond first impressions. In this part of my Good Beauty review, I’m sharing my personal experience with the results I noticed over time—how my skin felt day to day, how well the products supported hydration, and whether the formulas delivered on their promises. Rather than dramatic overnight changes, Good Beauty focused on steady, noticeable improvements that made my skin feel healthier, more balanced, and comfortable with regular use.

Short-Term vs Long-Term Skin Benefits

In the short term, Good Beauty Skincare delivered immediate benefits like improved hydration, smoother texture, and skin that felt calmer and more comfortable after each use. I noticed that my skin looked more balanced and less reactive within the first few days, especially when using the products consistently. Over the long term, the results became more noticeable and sustainable. With continued use, my skin maintained better moisture levels, felt more resilient, and looked healthier overall. Rather than quick, dramatic changes, Good Beauty focused on gradual, long-lasting improvements, which aligns well with its clean, wellness-centered approach to skincare.

Good beauty products include many ingredients that boost the immediate appearance of the skin. These ingredients hydrate and plump the skin. However, the most incredible results happen over time. With extended use of ingredients like ceramides, bakuchiol, tallow, helichrysum and more, long term results begin to appear. These are some of the “heavy hitters” in skincare that will help reduce fine lines, signs of aging, and hyperpigmentation.

My Good Beauty Skincare Results Timeline

Week 1:
Within the first few days of using Good Beauty Skincare, my skin felt noticeably more hydrated and comfortable. Dryness and tightness were reduced, and my complexion looked calmer and more balanced, especially after cleansing and moisturizing. Waking up each morning with plump and hydrated skin was a divine experience.

Weeks 2–3:
By the second and third week, I started noticing improvements in overall skin texture. My skin felt smoother, more even, and better able to hold moisture throughout the day. Any mild sensitivity I typically experience with new products was not present, which reinforced how gentle the formulas are.

1 Month and Beyond:
After a month of consistent use, the results felt more long-lasting. My skin looked healthier overall, with improved resilience and a natural glow. Rather than dramatic changes, Good Beauty delivered steady, skin-supporting results that improved the way my skin functioned over time.

Pros and Cons of Good Beauty Skincare

No skincare brand is perfect for everyone, and Good Beauty is no exception. In this section, I’ll break down the key advantages and potential drawbacks of the line, including formulation, performance, usability, and price. Understanding both the strengths and limitations of Good Beauty Skincare can help you decide whether it’s the right fit for your skin type, lifestyle, and clean beauty preferences. By weighing the pros and cons, you’ll have a clearer picture of what to expect before making a purchase.

✅Pros of Good Beauty Skincare

  • Clean, high-quality ingredients – Free from parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, and harsh preservatives.
  • Gentle yet effective – Suitable for sensitive skin while delivering visible results.
  • Luxurious texture and feel – Smooth, lightweight, and easy to layer.
  • Beautiful packaging – Glass containers with elegant branding that enhance the skincare experience. Having beautiful packaging sitting on my bathroom counter certainly adds to the experience.
  • Well-balanced formulations – Thoughtfully designed to nourish the skin barrier and maintain hydration.
  • Backed by wellness expertise – Developed by Meg Kilcup, a former Doctor of Pharmacy and clean beauty influencer.

🔴Cons of Good Beauty Skincare

  • Higher price point – Premium formulations come at a cost, though a Good Beauty discount code can help.
  • Not always travel-friendly – Glass packaging is elegant but less convenient for on-the-go use.
  • Not 100% plant based – For those who want plant based and no animal derived ingredients, this is important to note. I personally am a huge proponent of tallow as an incredibly beneficial skincare ingredient. Though I know some prefer no animal ingredients and feel transparency is important when guiding others to choosing the best options for themselves. The Dream Cream is the only product in the line that uses tallow. Both the Oil Cleanser and Miracle Serum are plant based.

Good Beauty Skincare vs Conventional Skincare

When deciding between clean and conventional skincare, it helps to understand how ingredient quality, formulation, and performance differ. Good Beauty Skincare focuses on non-toxic ingredients designed to nourish the skin while avoiding harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and hormone-disrupting additives. Conventional skincare, by contrast, often relies on preservatives, fillers, and synthetic compounds that can irritate sensitive skin or compromise long-term skin health.
