Try THIS routine for perfect skin on your wedding day

July 20, 2017

I came across Lewin & Reilly skin care months ago and believe me when I say, I wish I had stumbled upon it sooner. I have been so lucky enough to test out some amazing skin care products over the years but I have really found a favourite when it comes to Lewin & Reilly’s product line. Rarely do I find a company that gets my full approval and excitement for every single product in their line but this group of magical skin potions have certainly done it for me. Not to mention, I absolutely adore the owners who are so lovely to speak with and really know what they’re doing when it comes to natural skin care.

DIY Kitty Cat Themed Birthday Party

July 6, 2017

My little one turned 2 this year and when I asked her what type of birthday she wanted it didn’t surprise me at all that “kitty” was her answer. She loves all things kitty cats and so I went to all the stores to try and put together this party for her. Unfortunately, unless you’re looking for a popular character from a TV show or movie like ‘Hello Kitty’ or ‘Cat in the Hat’, there aren’t many options when it comes to this theme (where is good old ‘Lisa Frank’ from the 90’s when you need her). So I decided to take to Pinterest and found some easy and very affordable DIY decorations to make sure my girl got her special day. I decided to share my finds just incase theres another little one asking their Mama for cats instead of Disney characters for their big day.

‘The Beauty Archive’ of Sweden: Finding the ‘Perfect Pout’ for Bridal Season

June 22, 2017

Finding Lip colours has always been a struggle for me. I have a hard time finding a neutral that works for my pale complexion, a red that isn’t too far orange or too far blue, and while pinks work best for me, I’m still picky about the tone so I don’t look too overdone in my day to day life. Every once in a while I stumble upon colours that just work.

May 8, 2017

** this post contains affiliate links **

Moms get busy. Moms tend to forget about themselves very easily. I personally find it difficult to add self care into my daily routine and so I’ve compiled a list of quick and effective ways to practice self care that don’t involve a whole lot of time! While it would be great to be able to cut out a block of time each day to ourselves, when you’re raising tiny humans, that just isn’t gonna fly. So here are my favourite things to do when I’m feeling a little run down:

A day at the Spa: The Benefits I received from Hydrotherapy & Organic vegan food

May 5, 2017

Since becoming a Mom, I can’t remember my life before having my beautiful girl. Quite honestly, I don’t want to. It feels like she’s been with me forever and that she was meant to choose me as her Mama. I am completely consumed by Motherhood in the best way possible and devote all my energy towards my tiny human. That being said, when a Mother falls deeply in love with her children, it is very easy to forget that you yourself exist or have needs. There are times when I feel the exhaustion and never-ending cycle that is caregiving, but to be honest, I rarely crave time away from my little one. I find it overwhelming to plan time away for myself, but I know in my head that I do need the reset button every so often and that Delilah will grow by spending quality time with her Dad and Grandparents when I’m not around. So.. I force it.

Confessions of a Healthy Lifestyle Blogger: Non-toxic living doesn’t have to be perfect

February 4, 2017

This is something that I wanted to be sure I share as eloquently as possible, an important share for the sanity of all who venture into the world of healthy living. I am going to let you in on a little secret.. You do NOT have to completely swear off baked goods, give away all of your kids’ plastic toys, or immediately throw out your entire make up collection to trade in for a healthy lifestyle. Yes, you heard me.. I, Healthy Lifestyle Blogger of Bloom & Clementine, am telling you that sometimes perfectionism in ANY aspect of your life can be more detrimental than allowing a few “toxic” elements slip into your life. Now, I don’t want to completely confuse everyone here, if you’ve followed my blog you know that I have adopted a healthy way of living which includes green beauty, healthy choices for my family, making my own cleaning products, etc. I share my way of living, eating, as well as educate people on the toxicity of most conventional products and what to swap them out for. I am the biggest advocate for healthier choices overall, and believe that the more we educate each other on these topics, there is a better chance that the companies throwing together concoctions of different poisons and labelling them “safe” will slowly die out. I also believe that knowledge is power and that everyone should have a good understanding of what it is these companies are putting into your self care products, your food, your household cleaners, amongst many other things.

My Favourite Seasonal Detox: A Beneficial & Non-Restrictive Program

March 17, 2016

I have done my fair share of detox systems and I must say that coming from a background of eating issues, I am very cautious on what I will recommend to others. Many of the cleanse or detox programs on the market require you to replace a meal with their product or they use harsh ingredients that cause a laxative effect wreaking havoc on your electrolytes and organs. I am also quite an advocate of healthy eating and lifestyle over any fad diets or programs. I just don’t believe in miracle programs and I don’t use them as a weight loss aid at this point. Setting a goal of weight loss is fine, but this should not be your primary goal, health should be! When you provide your body with the proper nutrients, vitamins and minerals it needs to function, it will eventually shift to its most effective set weight point. It’s a good idea to cleanse your system every season change if possible. This gives your body a little kick start and gets rid of some unwanted baggage to help every system run a bit more smoothly.

This product has been a staple in my cupboard for years now. It is the chameleon of the natural world. It can be diluted at different ratios to create a never ending list of useful products all in one! Every time I turn around, I hear of another use for Dr. Bronner’s castile soap that I hadn’t before! Castile soap is a term used for the soaps that are made purely of vegetable oils rather than animal fats. This makes them 100% pure, vegan and cruelty free!
